Selby Carers Blog No. 3

Welcome to the latest update on The Wilf Ward Family Trust’s new service providing support, guidance and advice to Carers in the Selby & District area.

We are pleased to announce that we have now appointed a Coordinator for the service.

We have also appointed a resource worker who will work specifically with Carers of people with a Learning Disability to support them through the personalisation agenda.

A lady from Hambleton rang who was visited by a Jenny, one of the Resource Workers from the Selby Carers Service. The lady in question was one of the first people visited as part of the new Carer’s service. She spoke of how special she was made to feel during the visit and how wonderful she thought the service is.

She is caring for her husband who is suffering from anxiety and depression and said that when he gets better she hopes she would be in a position to offer voluntary help to the service in the future.

We hope to include other Carers stories, experiences and news as part of this website in the future.

If you would like to contribute to the site, find out more about the service or are interested in learning about volunteering opportunities with the service, please contact us at selbycarers@wilfward.org.uk or at the address below.
